First we heard the news that Peter Regin was sent back to Rockford which made some sense with Daniel Carcillo returning to the lineup on Sunday night.  The one thing about the current roster is that the Hawks would only be carrying 12 healthy forwards on their upcoming circus trip.

The Hawks decided that they would carry one extra forward after all and recalled Joakim Nordstrom from the Rockford Ice Hogs.  Nordstrom was the newly appointed Captain of the Ice Hogs, and in 13 games he had 5 goals and 3 assists with a -1 rating.

Nordstrom has played on the penalty kill for Joel Quenneville and played during the playoffs last year so it’s by far no stretch to have him return to Chicago, and that experience may be the reason the club decided to flip Nordstrom and Regin for the circus trip.

I was hoping for a jolt from Rockford but was looking for a Teuvo Teravainen recall or Mark McNeill but it’s Nordstrom for now.
