5. St. Louis Blues 12-4-1: The Blues have won three in a row and are 9-1-0 in their last ten games. Jaden Schwartz recorded his first NHL hat trick this week and Paul Stastny was injured again for the Blues. Brian Elliott continues to impress in net this season and Jake Allen might finally be turning the corner. Things are looking up for the Blues.

4. Tampa Bay Lightning 12-4-2: The Bolts are starting to get production from young players. Cedric Paquette replaced super prospect Jonathan Drouin on Saturday. Pacquette has only appeared 11 NHL games this season but recorded the game winner on Saturday night for the Bolts. The Bolts are hoping the young players add to their impressive core.

3. Pittsburgh Penguins 12-3-1: The Pens seven game winning streak was snapped last week. This week they were 2-0 and defeated the Rangers in a goofy ending on Saturday night. Evgeni Malkin laid out Dan Girardi with a clean hit on Saturday as well.

2. Anaheim Ducks 11-6-4: The Ducks got their starting goalie back last week.  Frederik Andersen is 7-1-2 with a 1.77 goals against average. While the Ducks got Andersen back they have been without Corey Perry. Perry has the mumps and is currently on IR. There has been no timeable on Perry’s return. Despite all the freak occurances, the Ducks still lead the Pacific division.

1. Montreal Canadiens 13-4-1: The Habs are playing extremely well, they have won 5-0 and are 6-3-1 in their last ten games. The Habs acquired Sergei Gonchar earlier this week from the Dallas Stars. The Habs sent Travis Moen to the Stars in the deal. Gonchar will try to help P.K. Subban and company keep their longest winning streak alive in five years.

Habs sit atop this week’s power rankings, who is your number 1 team?
