Pat Foley gets inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame today and will receive the Foster Hewitt Memorial award for outstanding hockey announcing. Foley will be inducted to the Hall of Fame along with hockey greats that he had the pleasure (displeasure really) to call during his 30 years of broadcasting. The others entering the Hall tonight are Dominik Hasek, Peter Forsberg, Mike Modano, Rob Blake, and Coach Pat Burns.
Of course having grown up listening to Foley originally on radio and now of course of TV this is a great day to celebrate the guy I always thought was the best hockey play by play guy in the business. The Blackhawks have had two great announcers in their history with Lloyd Pettite and now Pat Foley and today Foley will be honored with the highest honor possible for a NHL announcer.
Foley’s most memorable calls have been his playoff calls which makes one wish he had been on TV during the playoffs in 2010 and 2013 for the Blackhawks championships but we still have endless amounts of great calls which began with Bannerman and continues today.
Here is the schedule for tonight’s Pat Foley induction:
Start Time: 6:30pm
TV Listings: NHL Network, TSN

Thanks for all the memories Pat Foley!!!
