The Chicago Blackhawks have placed Trevor van Riemsdyk on Long Term I.R. and have recalled Stephen Johns from the Rockford Ice Hogs.  The Blackhawks also flipped Scott Darling and Antti Raanta once again as the Rockford goalie shuffle continues.  It was good for Raanta to get some ice time last night in Rockford. Joakim Nordstrom was also sent back down to Rockford after playing last night in the Blackhawks 6-2 victory.

Johns has the skill set to be a great defenseman in the NHL.  He has size speed and some nastieness to him which has many to believe he is the Brent Seabrook long-term replacement.  Johns has no goals and 5 assists with a +5 rating in Rockford this year and was one of the last players sent down to Rockford when TVR got the call to play as a regular at the beginning of the season.

The question is how much ice time Johns will get with the call up with David Rundblad and Michal Rozsival still on the roster but coach Joel Quenneville has been rotating these two so it could be Johns from the get go in Calgary on Thursday night.

Many like myself thought it would be Kyle Cumiskey or Klas Dahlebeck getting the call but I was rooting for it to be Johns to get the call.

What do you think of Johns getting the call?
