Well, if you didn’t see the Blackhawks in November at the United Center you missed out and won’t be able to see them again until December. It’s time for the annual circus trip when the circus invades the United Center and the Blackhawks and Bulls take one of their two annual West Coast trips so let’s take a look at this weeks contests.

Thursday Night At the Calgary Flames

The Flames to me are by far the biggest surprise in the Western Conference to date. They looked to be a goon squad before the season started but their mix of young talent with veteran experience has led to more wins then anyone could have imagined.  The other thing about the Flames is the Saddledome where the Hawks don’t normally play well there, so a good start to the road trip will be a win-win if the Hawks can get it done in Calgary Thursday night. Here’s a great highlight from the 2013 visit to Calgary.

Saturday Night At the Edmonton Oilers

The Blackhawks continue their trip across Western Canada to Edmonton which is like Calgary a place where the Blackhawks for years have struggled to claim wins and points.  The Oilers have been very streaky this year mostly losing streaks but they did get

Taylor Hall

back and with it their offense.  This will be a late Saturday night game on the road in Canada which make you wonder how will the Hawks respond in a House of Horrors.  Here’s a great

Corey Crawford

glove save in Edmonton and a great call by Pat Foley!

Sunday Night in Vancouver

The week ends with one of the Hawks biggest rivals that were believed to be dead after last years playoff miss.  The Canucks with a new coach and Ryan Miller in net are back and currently sit 2nd in the Western Conference Standings.  It was the Blackhawks wins against the Canucks in the playoffs in 2009 and 2010 that started one of the better rivals of late for the Hawks, yet the Canucks have slipped while the Blackhawks have won 2 Cups in the process.  Without Ryan Kesler which Canucks goon will try to start something on Sunday night?
