Andrew Shaw is out against the Calgary Flames

The Blackhawks have announced that Andrew Shaw will not play tonight against the Calgary Flames. Shaw is ruled out with an Upper Body injury. Calgary is the first stop the Blackhawks “Circus trip”.

This season has not been kind to Shaw. After a very promising playoffs with, the Blackhawks decided to keep Shaw in as their second line center. Shaw began the season on the second line with Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad. The Shaw, Kane, and Saad line did not yield the same results in the regular season as they did the playoffs last year.  Now Shaw finds himself on the fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Ben Smith.

Shaw this season has 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points. Shaw is a -4 on the season. For his career Shaw has 44 goals and 39 assists during his 183 games.

In other related injury news, Trevor Van Riemsdyk under went successful surgery to repair a left patella fracture. This is the second major left leg injury suffered by TVR. He suffered a significant left injury during his junior season at the University of New Hampshire. The Blackhawks hope TVR can return in 3 to 4 months.
