The Chicago Blackhawks recalled Phillip Danault today from Rockford. Coach Joel Quenneville and his coaching staff will not waste any time inserting him into the lineup. Danault will most likely be slotted on the fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Daniel Carcillo.

The Blackhawks also have announced that Antti Raanta will be getting the start in net against Edmonton. Raanta last appeared in a Blackhawks game on October 25th against the St. Louis Blues. Raanta got the loss. Raanta has appeared in three games this season. He is 1-2-0 with a .933 save percentage and 2.03 goals against average. The Blackhawks were concerned with Raanta’s lack of playing time that on November 16th, the Blackhawks sent Raanta to Rockford to make a start. Raanta won his start for the Rockford Icehogs. He made 33 saves and allowed 2 goals against the Texas Stars. Raanta’s lack of playing time is due in large part to the great play of Corey Crawford. Crawford is 8-4-1 with 1.97 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. Crawford is putting together one of his best season’s as a pro.

The Blackhawks will take on the Edmonton Oilers Saturday November 22nd at 9:00pm. The game can be seen on WGN.
