15. Minnesota Wild 13-9-1: the Wild are 6-3-1but this week they appear to be thinking more long term. The Wild signed Marco Scandella to a five year contract worth 20 million. He is viewed as one of the best two way young defenseman in the NHL.

14. Toronto Maple Leafs 12-8-3: this past week Forbes ranked the Leafs as the most valuable team in the NHL at over a billion dollars. Imagine how much the team would be worth if they consistently won games. To the Leafs credit, they did CRUSH the Caps 6-2 on Saturday.

13. Boston Bruins: Can the Bruins hang in the tough Eastern Conference now with all of their injuries? Patrice Bergeron is trying to keep them in it.

12. Los Angeles Kings 12-7-5: The Kings are 5-3-2 in their last ten games and were beaten handly by the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night. Do the Kings have enough offense to win the Cup again? They currently sit 14th in the NHL in goals for.

11. The Detroit Red Wings 13-5-5 The Wings have won three in a row and five of their last six games. Gustav Nyquist continues to score goals at an impressive rate. The Wings game back from a four goal deficit on Saturday to defeat the Devils in a shootout.
