Chicago Blackhawks Holiday Wish List: Kris Versteeg

It would be an understatement to say that the second half of 2014 has treated Kris Versteeg more kindly than the first half. Number 23 rejoined the Hawks part of the way through last season. While he had his occasional flashes of brilliance, for the most part, fans were not only questioning the move but also why the team didn’t drop him like a sack of potatoes post-season, after an underwhelming performance.

But he has had quite the summer, and whether it was more rest time, better training, or some positive life changes (as he got married not too long ago), he has managed a complete 180-degree turn and is racking up points like there’s no tomorrow. He’s averaging a point a game (currently at 21) and is a +13 (good for 10th in the league).

So it seems like he has just about everything a guy could want. Still, there’s no shame in asking Santa for a little gift this holiday season, right? We haven’t seen his list yet, but we can imagine that it has something to do with music, given his love for singing/rapping/whatever it is he does.

Maybe something like:

Yep, you guessed it: a karaoke machine! While keeping his skills up on the ice, he will also need to flex those vocal cords off the ice.

After all, he has another victory parade speech rap to practice for next June.
