Today the Blackhawks made two announcements. The first announcement was about Jeremy Morin.  Morin was sent to Rockford on a conditioning assignment.  The second announcement was that Patrick Sharp was activated from LTIR and the Blackhawks reassigned Joakim Nordstrom to the AHL.  My speculation is that Morin was set to the AHL for his conditioning assignment because he is going to be traded very soon. I think Morin would have not accepted the conditioning assignment if that was not the case.   A source close to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune stated that four or five teams have already called about Morin.

Morin recently spoke out about his lack of playing time. The reports were that Morin has informed the Blackhawks that they need to either play him or trade him.

When a player becomes disgruntled, it become a hindrance to the team. With the Blackhawks going for their seventh win in a row tonight, Morin pouting about his lack of playing time is not something they need.  I think Morin will be traded. I have no idea to where he will be traded but I know it will not be for anyone at the NHL level. The Blackhawks are right up against the cap with Morin’s salary. Once Morin is traded Nordstrom will be recalled. Nordstrom was playing well on the fourth line and is a player that Coach Quenneville trusts and likes. Coach Q then can split time on the fourth line between Daniel Carcillo and Nordstrom.

Morin has 0 points in 15 games this season and has not played since 11/20/14.

That is my speculation on the Morin situation.
