The Blackhawks came into Boston winning seven in a row and looking for win number eight. Meanwhile the Bruins have been very good at TD Garden against the Blackhawks in the regular season. The Blackhawks would win an ugly style game 3-2. Despite the victory the Blackhawks might have lost their captain Jonathan Toews. Toews was boarded by Dennis Seidenberg in the second period. Toews would leave later in that period and did not return. Seidenberg should be hearing from the league with that hit.

Scoring Recap:

1st period: The Blackhawks got on the board first with 9:10 gone by in the first period. Ben Smith had a great effort along the board and fought desperately to get the puck back to the point. Klas Dahlbeck ripped a shot for his first NHL goal. Smith would then get a goal for himself at 18:43 gone by. That was two goals for the fourth line for the game.

2nd period: The magic man Patrick Kane has been on fire lately. Kane put the Blackhawks up for good 3-0. Kane was assisted by Kris Versteeg. However the Bruins would not go quietly into the night. Reilly Smith scored a late second period goal to give the Bruins late life.

3rd period: The Bruins came out energized in the third period and brought the rain. Torey Krug helped the Bruins cut the lead to one goal. The Bruins would not be able to tie the game because of the great play of Scott Darling. Darling was great to end the game. Darling stopped 9 of 10 shots on goal in the wild third period. The Blackhawks won 3-2 over the Boston Bruins.

  • Coach Quenneville said Toews was fine and should be fine going forward in his post game news conference.
  • Scott Darling recorded his 6th NHL victory and could get the majority starts with Crawford out. He is 4-0 on the road this season.
  • Klas Dahlbeck recorded his first NHL goal.
  • Zdeno Chara return to the NHL tonight. He had been out with a torn PCL since the 9th game of the Bruins season.
