Jonathan Toews Leaves Game After Headfirst Hit

Halfway through the second period of tonight’s game against the Boston Bruins, Jonathan Toews was drilled headfirst into the boards by Bruins’ Dennis Dennis Seidenberg.

Seidenburg was called on the penalty, and Toews somehow managed to continue playing for just under a minute of a Hawks 5-on-3 advantage until he was called for hooking.

Shortly after he served his two minutes in the box, Toews headed into the dressing room and did not return for the rest of the period.

Right before the start of the third period, Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen confirmed that the Captain would not be returning for the rest of the game.

No pun intended (honestly!) but we really do hope that his injury is nothing serious. Get better soon, Tazer!
