The Blackhawks have announced that Captain Jonathan Toews will travel to New York with the team. Blackhawks fan have been holding their collective breath ever since Dennis Seidenberg drilled Toews into the boards.  Toews did not finish the second period and did not return for third period against the Bruins. The Seidenberg hit was reviewed by the league but no punishment was leavied

Toews has dealt with concussion issues before in the past. Toews had played in 2012 with concussion like symptoms for several weeks before the team noticed. Toews was then sat down until symptoms past.

In my opinion the Blackhawks should not rush Toews back for this injury. With history and importance to the team, the Blackhawks should sit Toews for a game or two. Toews had just signed eight year 84 million dollar contract extension in the offseason. Toews has 11 goals 12 assists and is a plus 7 this season.

The Blackhawks will take on the New York Islanders on December 13th at 6pm. It can been locally on WGN.
