Last week Jeremy Morin informed the Blackhawks to play him or trade him. After that statement the Blackhawks and Morin agreed to send him to the AHL on a conditioning assignment. Today the Blackhawks granted Morin his wish. The Blackhawks traded Jeremy Morin to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Defenseman Tim Erixon. Morin had appeared in 15 games with the Blackhawks this season. He had recorded 0 pts. Morin has not appeared in a game since 11/20/14 making him a healthy scratch in the last 11 games. Morin had signed a two contract extension with the Blackhawks this offseason in hopes he would finally get his chance at the NHL level. Unfortunately for Morin, it never worked out in Chicago. The Blackhawks received Tim Erixon. Erixon has appeared in 70 NHL games in four seasons. He has one goal and 12 assists in four seasons. He was drafted 23rd in 2009 by the Flames. He was traded to the Blue Jackets with Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov and a 2013 pick for Rick Nash, Steven Delisle, and conditional 2013 pick. This will be Erixon fourth NHL franchise. There has been no word on where Erixon will report. The best guess is that Erixon will be sent to Rockford.   Thank you for visiting Blackhawk up prides itself on providing original Blackhawks content.
