The Chicago Blackhawks recalled Joakim Nordstrom from Rockford this evening bringing back a Joel Quenneville favorite.  It may just be me but the bottom line of Marcus Kruger and Ben Smith have not looked quite as good without Nordstom on the line with Daniel Carcillo filling his role.

Nordstrom doesn’t do anything great but he’s a perfect fit on the bottom line being pesky and doing things for 200 feet just like the coach likes it while filling out roles in the Blackhawks very good and league leading penalty kill.

You have to like the fact that Nordstrom didn’t sulk when he was sent back to Rockford with the “conditioning” Jeremy Morin last week.  Nordstrom only recorded a hat trick Saturday night with an assist and now he’s heading back to Chicago.

Nordstrom’s call up has to be a ripple effect from the Morin trade and the fact that the Blackhawks now have no salary cap issues , but will he be watching from the pressbox or will he be reunited with Kruger and Smith.

Nordstrom is back, what do you think?
