9. San Jose Sharks 19-11-4: The Sharks have been on fire recently. They have won five in a row and are 9-1-0 in their last ten games. The Sharks appear headed in the right direction once again. This recent hot streak begs the question should they trade Antti Niemi this season or now??

8. New York Rangers 16-10-4: The Rangers have the longest winning streak this week at five in a row. They are 7-3-0 in their last ten games. Rick Nash did have NHL best 11 game point streak snapped this past week but other than that the Rangers appear to be clicking.

7. The Detroit Red Wings 17-8-8: The Red Wings offense had recently gone cold. Johan Franzen has not scored in his last 13 games. The Wings are also going to be without Jimmy Howard who is day to day with a lower body injury. Petr Mrazek has been strong for the Wings this season.

6. New York Islanders 23-10-0: The Islanders have won four in a row and are 7-3-0 in their last ten games. Jaroslav Halak has notched the last four wins in a row for the Islanders. The Islanders are having a season to remember at the Coliseum.
