5. New York Islanders 23-11-1: Despite Blowing a three goal lead to the Buffalo Sabres, the Islanders still are among the NHL elite. The Islanders also got more bad news as Jaroslav Halak was placed on IR with a lower body injury.

4. Nashville Predators: 23-9-2: The Predators continue an impressive season. Filip Forsberg continues his awesome season. The Preds also assigned Viktor Stalberg to the AHL. Stalberg has been a bust in Nashville.

3. Pittsburgh Penguins 22-8-5: Penguins have been hit by the mumps again. Steve Downie and Thomas Greiss are the latest Pens to get the mumps.

2. Anaheim Ducks 23-8-6: The Ducks are hoping their eight game home stand turning around the Ducks. They have the highest point total in the NHL but have lost three of their last five.

1. Chicago Blackhawks 24-10-2: The Blackhawks continue their hot play. The Blackhawks won their first game after the Christmas break. Patrick Kane recorded two goals in their latest victory. The Blackhawks are 12-2-0 when Kane scores a goal. Kane has six goals an seven assists in past eight games.

The Blackhawk continue to hold onto the top spot in the NHL. Who is your number one team??
