Tonight closes out the books for the month of December and when looking back at the month no Blackhawks player has had a better month than one of it’s two biggest stars Patrick Kane.  Going into tonight he’s scored 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points in 12 games in the month of December.  After a slow October he’s really got his game clicking including this month’ output.  Let’s take a quick look at his month.

Scoreless games this month- 3

Games With 2 Goals- 2 (The first of the month against St. Louis and last game against Colorado)

Games with 1 Goal- 4 (Boston, Islanders, Wild, Maple Leafs)

Games With 2 Assists-3 (Wild, Maple Leafs)

Games With 1 Assist-4 (Montreal, Calgary, Columbus, Colorado)

Three Point Games- 3 (Wild, Maple Leafs, Colorado)

As you can see Kane has been on fire and he will get his center back with him tonight in the name of Brad Richards which should not hinder but possibly help the point totals add up even more tonight against the Nashville Predators.

Kane should be in the running for player of the month of December in the NHL, but he’s certainly been able to throw his hat into early Hart Trophy contention.  It’s seems like this was the same place he was last season except now he’s has Richards in the middle instead of Michal Handzus so slowing down shouldn’t be an option!
