The votes are in and the Chicago Blackhawks have crushed the fan vote for the All-Star game at the end of the month of January.

Over 35 million fan votes have been cast and outside of the entire country of Latvia voting for Buffalo Sabres Zemgus Girgensons the fan vote went the way of the Blackhawks so get ready to here all of the Chicago Blackhawks bandwagon talk. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews join Girgensons as the All-Star Forwards to get selected while Brent Seabrook, Duncan Keith and Corey Crawford were the top vote getters in the defenseman and goalie categories with over 1 million votes casted for each player.

Fans of other teams will be up in arm with both Girgensons making the team and the rest of the Blackhawks starters, but it goes to show what happens when the selections are put into the hands of the fans and how hugely popular the Chicago Blackhawks have become since the arrival of Toews/Kane in 2007 from their championships to out of this world talent level.

It can be debatable but the core of the Blackhawks is Toews/Kane/Keith and all three will be making their 3rd All-Star Appearance.  Don’t forget when you starting thinking only 3rd, the All-Star Game was cancelled in 2013 because of the lockout while the 2014 game just didn’t get scheduled because of the Olympics.

Brent Seabrook who really is having one of his best seasons will be making his first All-Star appearance, the Blackhawks are averaging the best Goals Against Average in the league so it’s not that big of a stretch that their #1 defensive pairing makes the All-Star Game.

The selection of Corey Crawford does show the power of the Blackhawks fan base.  Crawford before his misstep at the concert was playing some really great hockey, but he’s been just ok since his return although he still picking up wins on a regular basis.  This like Seabrook will be Crawford’s first All-Star Appearance.

When careers are over the games don’t really matter, but putting 3,4,5,6,10 time All-Star is a real nice feather in the cap and after the fan vote 5 Hawks already are in with possibly more to follow when the rest of the teams are announced.
