5. Pittsburgh Penguins 24-10-5: The Pens are currently tied with the Islanders for the lead in the Met. The Pens got David Perron from the Edmonton Oilers for Rob Klinkhammer and a 2015 first round pick. Steve Downie also returned from the Mumps this past week.

4. New York Islanders 26-11-1: The Islanders have won three in a row and are 7-2-1 in their last ten games. Did you know that the Islanders have lost four in a row in Edmonton? They are looking for their first win since 2003. John Tavares had both goals in the Islanders last win.

3. Anaheim Ducks 25-9-6: The Ducks are 6-3-1 in their last ten games. Matt Beleskey might be the shock of the NHL going for a grinder to the Ducks leading scorer. He has 16 goals and five assists on the season.

2. Chicago Blackhawks 25-11-2: The Blackhawks suffered two defeats in the Winter Classic. The Hawks lost the game 3-2 and they lost top winger Kris Versteeg. Versteeg was having a bounce back year after a abysmal 2013-14 season. The Blackhawks recalled Teuvo Teravainen to take Versteeg’s place.

1. Montreal Canadiens 26-11-2: The Habs have won six in a row and have the longest current winning streak in the NHL. They have won five in a row on the road during this streak and have first place in the East with 54 points. Carey Price is 9-2 this season against Met division opponents.
