If you picked B. Charlie Gardiner you were correct!

While shutouts and Tony Esposito go hand in hand since he holds the season record with 15 and franchise record with 74, it was Charlie Gardiner who holds the record for most consecutive shutouts in a season. In January 1931, Gardiner had 4 consecutive shutout which still is the franchise record and it all began on January 8th with a shutout of the Pennsylvania Quakers. Gardiner would also be the goalie that led the Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup in 1934.

Gardiner is the only goalie to be the Captain of the Stanley Cup winning team and was in the first class of the NHL Hall of Fame when it opened it’s doors in 1945.
