Now that the Chicago Blackhawks have passed the halfway point of the season we now have a better look at the team and what they have accomplished so far. We also can make better predictions based off of the outcome of the first half of the season. Today I would like to make my bold halfway prediction of 3 reasons the Blackhawk will win the Stanley Cup. Halfway through the season I still stand by my prediction at the beginning of the year.
Second line center problem solved
During the offseason the Chicago Blackhawks organization went out and solved one of the biggest issues that continued to come up time and time again last season. That question was who can serve as a regular as the second line center? The lines were continuously flipping and flopping to try and find the one person that could fill the role but there was never a consistent person that did. This season is different though, with the signing of veteran Brad Richards the Chicago Blackhawks have solved their problem. So far he has played in 40 out of 42 games and has recorded 9 goals (tied for 4th on team) and 17 assists (6th on team) which is good for 26 points (tied for 6th on team.) Of all the lines on the Chicago Blackhawks the 2nd line has by far been the most consistent night in and night out. Something you definitely could not have said last year.
