The Blackhawks get back to the ice tonight at a very early start time on Sunday night during Championship Day in the NFL. The Blackhawks as we all know have struggled against the Winnipeg Jets this season, but the opposite holds true with tonight’s opponent the Dallas Stars whom the Blackhawks have already defeated 3 times and will be going for their fourth win against this Central Divisional foe tonight.
The Stars are fun team to watch playing fast break hockey with a young star in Tyler Seguin but it’s been the inconsistent play of Kari Lehtonen that has put the Stars in a hole that will be tough dig out from under if they hope to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs this spring. The thing about the West is that the Stars are still only 4 points out of a Wild Card spot and their play has been improving even if the record doesn’t show it.
The Blackhawks have only been a .500 team in the last 10 games and after a long break and the All-Star game break looming getting any consistency together seems to be a struggle as of late for the Blackhawks, but it’s better to have some sort of struggle in January than in April so all is not lost right now.

Now on to the prediction for tonight’s game, the last game I had the Hawks winning 3-2 withBryan Bickell
picking up a goal and 4 hits, whileTeuvo Teravainen
would get his first NHL Point on an assist toAndrew Shaw
. Well partial credit time with the Bickell hits and Teuvo point although getting a goal was much more satisfying. In case you missed it here is the goal.
The Blackhawks have had no shortage of goals against the Stars this season so look for the Blackhawks to score early and often tonight in a fast paced game with lots of action and goals. My prediction is the Hawks will win 5-3 with Ben Smith picking up a goal and Teuvo Teravainen picking up a point to start a point streak.
