The Chicago Blackhawks are facing a mini-slump in January which is part of their normal routine. They start slow, get hot during the circus trip which carries over to a very hot December and then they tend to slump during the dog days of January. The All-Star break is only a day away and the a week off for most of the Hawks before the Ice Show trip arrives, but tonight is our first look at the Coyotes.
The Coyotes are struggling to say the least and they are near the bottom of the Standings and their GM has told the fan base that its going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better, which isn’t great for a team without the greatest fan base.
The Blackhawks have been struggling at the defensive end with their bottom pairing being exposed by teams on almost a nightly basis. David Rundblad will be back in the lineup tonight with Michal Rozsival which doesn’t give Hawks fans much confidence but at least tonight the Hawks are not facing an offensive juggernaut.

On to the prediction part of the program, I had what I felt was a tremendous prediction of a 5-3 Blackhawks win with a Ben Smith goal and a Teuvo Teravainen point streak and oh by the way none of that came to fruition.
Tonight I have the Blackhawks winning easily 5-1 with Patrick Kane scoring his 200th career goal and jumping past Tony Amonte for 9th place All-time in Blackhawks history in points with 542, and I will also predict an Andrew Shaw goal after all the talk of his slump.
What is your prediction for tonight’s game against the Coyotes (it’s still weird calling them Arizona instead of Phoenix) Please drop off your prediction for tonight’s game in our comments section and we will see who is the best predictor of the future!
