The Blackhawks made a real dark horse pick when they recalled Dennis Rasmussen to join the team in time for the ice show road trip with the injured Kris Versteeg out and Daniel Carcillo out serving his 6 game suspension.
Many assumed it would be either Mark McNeill, Phillip Danault or Peter Regin but the Hawks went with Rasmussen who has 8 goals and 8 assists in 44 games so far this season. Not sure if it was salary cap related or if it was to keep the team chemistry up in Rockford but i’m really shocked that the name we receive on the recall sheet is Rasmussen.
I suppose that the Hawks didn’t want another second guessing road trip with one of their real young guns coming up so Rasmussen will just be an insurance policy during the road trip and not really expected to play much.
