My NHL All-Star Weekend Experience

Jonathan Toews passes me the cup after winning the Stanley Cup, kind of.

This past weekend I had the chance to take part in the NHL All-Star Weekend festivities in Columbus, OH. It was a fun filled weekend packed with numerous activities for hockey fans of all ages. It also was a great time to get downtown Columbus even if you were not a hockey fan; to enjoy the people, scenery, and events that the city had going on. Now that it has passed I would like to share my NHL All-Star Weekend experience and give my highlights of the weekend.

I arrived in Columbus, OH on Thursday because my sister and brother-in-law were able to get a hold of some tickets for the opening night of the Fan Fair which was limited to Columbus Blue Jackets season ticket holders. Since it was a season ticket holder only event I decided it would be a great idea to sport my Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane jersey to liven it up a little. Surprisingly I didn’t get any grief and there were a handful of people inside who also decided to wear their favorite teams jersey to the event; most notably Chicago Blackhawks fans.
