#2: Jonathan Toews

Somewhere lost in Patrick Kane’s march towards the NHL’s scoring title, and Marian Hossa’s dazzling turnaround, is the Captain; Jonathan Toews. It’s hard to believe that one could forget about Toews, but his consistent production never ceases, and this week was certainly no exception. Toews is now sitting on a four-game point streak, with four assists and one goal in that span. The lone goal was a timely one, the game-winner against the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Toews has been an excellent complement to Marian Hossa over the past few games, and after taking a glance at our First Star’s play over the past week, it’s not hard to see why the Captain has put up solid numbers, too. Toews’ plus-five rating in the past four games show just how effective he is every time he steps on the ice, whether it’s power-play, penalty-kill, or even strength. Jonathan Toews is heating up, and it’s just the right time.
