Johnny Oduya was injured in the first period of the Chicago Blackhawks vs Boston Bruins game on Sunday and never returned to the ice. Oduya wasn’t on the ice for the 6-2 embarrassing defeat but the news was worse for Oduya after the game.
The news for Oduya wasn’t good but it was too bad either with the update on the Oduya injury being that he will only miss a couple of games possibly with him getting re-evaluated tomorrow with a upper body injury according to coach Joel Quenneville.
Let’s be honest the Hawks defense has struggled and Oduya has been part of that struggle after being part of the shut down tandem with Niklas Hjalmarsson for the past two seasons.
Oduya had a lower body injury that would have caused him to miss the Stanley Cup playoffs had the Hawks won Game 7 last season and has never played at the same level since last years playoffs.
Oduya is out for this week but hopefully not much longer than that because we all know that less Michal Rozsival is better.
