The city of Lemont rejoices!!! Scott Darling and Joakim Nordstrom have been recalled from Rockford and Antti Raanta and Ryan Hartman have been sent down to the IceHogs.

Ryan Hartman made a huge first statement and showed that he belonged in the big leagues by playing hard, hitting and making plays on both ends of the ice, but he’s going back to Rockford probably with tons of confidence.

Antti Raanta needs work period! He looked extremely rusty in the period and a half that he was in net today during the Boston Goal Party at the United Center on Sunday.

Joakim Nordstrom is back which doesn’t really excite me  to be honest. Nordstrom is pretty vanilla but a solid 4th line guy who can kill penalties but really doesn’t have much of an offensive game, but he has Coach Quenneville’s trust.

The big news has to be Darling getting called back up.  The fan base is really sour on Corey Crawford although he’s the #1 goalie no matter what anyone says, but the fans and it appears the coaching staff at times really likes Darling’s ability and size. For the year Darling is 5-2 with a .937 save percentage and a 1.97 Goals Against Average while playing for the Hawks in Chicago.

The call up of Darling could be a wake up call for Crawford and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Darling in net on Tuesday night when the Hawks mercifully end their 8 game homestand!

What do you think of the moves tonight? Are they reactionary from today’s outcome or were certain players on display before the trading deadline?
