Well, the first game post Patrick Kane injury went as planned. The Blackhawks locked down their defense and the Blackhawks got goals from two players that needed to step up and the Captain so Game #1 Mission accomplished! Tonight’s task will be much tougher as they play one of the best teams and a possible Stanley Cup Finalist the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Blackhawks only gave up 20 shots last night in their 3-0 shutout and were a little more aggressive in the hitting department. One of those hits led to a turnover and eventually a Teuvo Teravainen goal in the first period and the Hawks were well on their way to the win and a crucial 2 points in the standings minus their leading goal scorer.
The Lightning have had 4 days of rest after a west coast swing so they will be well rested but we know that most teams struggle at home after a long road trip right Hawks fans!! The Lightning are led by Stamkos and Bishop and that is a pretty strong tandem on the scoring end and the goalie end of things which is why they are one of the favorites to win the East this season.
One thing I can almost guarantee is that Stamkos won’t have a hat trick tonight because I won’t be attending the game. The last two road games I went to in Tampa Stamkos left the rink with 3 goals to his credit so sorry their won’t be a third tonight. Here is the viewing info for tonight’s game

On to the predictions part of the program, I had the Hawks winning 4-1 in Florida so I had the winning margin correct and I picked Brandon Saad to score last night so I was 1-3 on picking correct goal scorers in South Beach.
Tonight I think this game will be a tough one with the Blackhawks at worst picking up a road point. I see the game being tied at 3 heading to a shootout with Teuvo picking up the shootout winner. Brandon Saad will score again for the Hawks in regulation.
