The final game hasn’t been played yet, but the Chicago Blackhawks now know who they will be facing when the playoffs kick off this coming week. The Chicago Blackhawks have clinched 3rd place in the Central Division and will be facing the 2nd place Nashville Predators with Smashville holding home ice advantage. The Minnesota Wild lost 4-2 to the St. Louis Blues today securing the Nashville Predators vs Chicago Blackhawks first round matchup.
The Blackhawks faced the Predators in the opening round of the 2010 playoff run with the difference being that the Chicago Blackhawks had home ice advantage back in 2010. Pekka Rinne and the Nashville Predators had the Blackhawks on the ropes with the series tied 2-2 and Marian Hossa in the penalty box serving a 5 minute major and the Predators up a goal, but if you forgot some Patrick Kane magic happened on the United Center Ice that day. Here is the video clip of a goal that doesn’t get old.
Of course that goal didn’t win the game it would be won a few minutes later in overtime when Marian Hossa left the penalty box and made up for his major penalty. There is Dave Bolland, Brent Sopel and Hossa all on the ice for the game winner.

The Blackhawks as we all know finished off the Predators in Game #6 on the road in Smashville, but it was one tough series and although Barry Trotz is gone Rinne is still in net and both teams are so solid defensively that this could be a snooze fest if your into watching goals and red lamps light up.

Goals Forced: 12
Goals Allowed: 9
Shots- 142-120 in favor of the Chicago Blackhawks
