Third matchup: January 11th, 2015

The Hawks immediately pleased the United Center faithful by jumping out to a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the 1st period on the back of goals from Marian Hossa and Bryan Bickell(this guy’s name has popped up quite a bit so far.  Interesting).

The 2nd period was more of the same as Brad Richards and Johnny Oduya solved Wild goaltender, Niklas Backstrom to double the Hawks’ lead.

Despite a 3rd period goal from Matt Cooke, the Wild could not climb back into this one and fell to the Hawks by a score of 4-1.

This was Minnesota’s 5th consecutive loss and they appeared to have no shot at climbing back into playoff contention.
