Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Who’s ready for the weekend and by the weekend I mean who’s ready for some playoff hockey at the United Center?? The Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild have one more day of practice before they take to the ice Friday in what should be a great 2nd round matchup and the third straight year these two teams have met in the playoffs which is exactly what Gary Bettman and the NHL brass wanted when they changed up the playoff format.

Rivalries is what makes sports great, and this playoff format almost forces teams that want to succeed into a rivalry.  This isn’t going back 85 years with an original 6 team like the Detroit Red Wings, but just like the Vancouver Canucks 5 years ago, if you continue to see the same team in the playoffs a rivalry will be formed.  The Wild want to get past the Chicago Blackhawks this season while the Hawks want to get back to hoisting the Cup. It should be a fun series and here are some morning links to kick off your Gameday Eve.
