Is it Sunday yet?  Is it Sunday yet?  Daddy, is it Sunday yet?!  I am the whiney kid in the back seat that can’t wait to get there.  The Chicago Blackhawks punched their ticket to the Western Conference Final last Thursday, but they won’t play Game 1 of said series until this coming Sunday.  That’s 10 days that we have to wait!  Watching the Eastern Conference teams duke it out just hasn’t been cutting it.  I think I can speak for everyone when I say I am having withdrawals, and the anticipation is killing me!

With so much time on my hands, I have composed a letter of sorts to the Chicago Blackhawks.  In it, I have a little something to say to each player about how they can contribute to a successful series against the Anaheim Ducks.  Here we go…

Jonathan Toews.  Oh Captain! My Captain!  What more is there to say that you haven’t already said to yourself?  In my book, you are the best two-way forward in the NHL.  We need everything that this entails for this series.  Success in the face-off circle, the scoring touch, defensive responsibility, strong leadership.  But you know all this already, so carry on.

Marian HossaI hope you can continue to play until you’re 65 because it will be a sad day when we can’t watch your glory anymore.  The total dominance on the ice is almost unfair.  You keep on making those youngsters look silly, and create as many turnovers as you’d like Big Hoss!

Brandon SaadStan Bowman has pretty much guaranteed you will continue to be a Chicago Blackhawk in the future, and I couldn’t be more excited.  I was rooting for you to be on the first line all season, and now you’re there and having success.  You have earned your spot, and your hustle and determination are making good things happen.  Keep up the great work, Saader!

Bryan BickellWell Bicks, we’re gonna need the bully factor for this one.  It’s you against all those big bad Anaheim Ducks.  Your new Indian name is Duck Hunter.  Now get angry and go out and live up to it!

Brad RichardsRichy, you’re a very smart player with very straight teeth (am I the only one that has noticed the perfect teeth?  Are they replacements?).  Anyway, I’m sure you want to have a shot at playing your old team in the Stanley Cup Finals.  Just keep feeding Kaner, okay?

Patrick KaneCorey Perry has 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points in the playoffs so far.  You have 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points.  Your goal is to beat this (insert bad word here) and come out ahead in goals and assists!
