2011-Vancouver
Now not every series ends happily when down 1-0! The Canucks were the team to beat in 2011, and the Chicago Blackhawks snuck into the playoffs on the final day. It looked like the Chicago Blackhawks didn’t belong in the playoffs when they weren’t just down 1-0, but 3-0 yet the return of Dave Bolland to the lineup sparked the team which rattled off 3 straight wins including this overtime beauty by the young Ben Smith.
The Hawks would fight to the bitter end, but a Game #7 goal by the Canucks in overtime would end it for the Hawks in 2011, after being down 1-0.

This was a fun series to watch even though the Hawks lost. The first 5 games of the series went to overtime with Corey Crawford giving up two of the softest OT goals in history, but the fact is after being down 1-0, the Hawks tied the series 1-1 with a Bryan Bickell OT goal. The Hawks lost Games 3 & 4 at the United Center, but Jonathan Toews forced a Game #6 after this tremendous one man effort in Game #5 overtime.
The Hawks would get shut out at home in Game #6 so it hasn’t always been peachy down 1-0 in a series.
