Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans and Happy Memorial Day!  First off before we talk about anything else, Please let me thank all of the service men and woman that protect our great country, and let’s not ever forget all of those that have paid the ultimate price so that we can live in a free country.  Without your sacrifice none of this would ever matter!  Yes we talk about the Chicago Blackhawks and this group of players have become some of my favorite players of all-time, but it’s everyone that has ever worn a uniform of our armed forces that are my heroes!

Let’s not forget that the Chicago Blackhawks history is based on the armed forces.  The original owner of the Chicago Blackhawks Fredric McLaughlin fought in World War I in the 333rd Machine Gun Battalion of the 86th Division of the United States Army.  The members of this Battalian called themselves the Black Hawks in honor of the Saux Indian Chief that sided with the British in War of 1812.

Today, the Chicago Blackhawks honor military veterans past and present at the beginning of every home game as they stand next to the Anthem Singer Jim Cornelison during the National Anthem.

Tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks will be facing the Anaheim Ducks on their home ice in a pivotal Game #5! Here are some morning links to kick off your Memorial Day Festivities.

If you missed the highlights yesterday, here’s one last look at a crazy third period and a great effort by Antoine Vermette to seal the overtime victory (Blackhawks)
