It wasn’t just that.  It was the moment.  The moment that Hawks fans seriously started to wonder if Jonathan Toews was actually human or something else.

In Game Five of the Western Conference Finals, the Hawks trailed the Ducks 4-2 with less than two minutes remaining in the third period.  A loss would put the Hawks on the brink of elimination and it appeared that’s exactly where the Hawks were headed.

Enter: The Captain

Toews scored a goal to bring the Hawks within one.  While taking a brief break on the bench, Coach Q said something to Toews.  What exactly?  Well, that’s up for interpretation.

Once Toews was back on the ice, he scored another(!) goal from an impossible angle to tie the game at 4-4 and send it to overtime.

Yes, the Ducks would go on to win the game, but the moment that Captain Serious became Captain Clutch should never be forgotten.
