The Stanley Cup the NHL’s Biggest Award was handed out last Monday night to the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center in front of 22,000 of their closest friends.  The Conn Smythe Trophy was also awarded on the Chicago Blackhawks home ice for the first time ever when Duncan Keith was awarded the MVP of the playoffs.

Now tonight, the rest of the NHL Awards will be handed out in what looks like the home of a future NHL team in Las Vegas.  The NHL Awards show is sometimes corny to me with some comedian that trying to be funny, or last year it was even better when Cuba Gooding Jr. got on stage and no one knew what to expect.

There are plenty of Awards to be won tonight here they are with the Finalist and predictions!

Hart Trophy-MVP

FinalistsAlex Ovechkin, Carey Price, John Tavares

Prediction– Price carried the Montreal Canadiens all season long and will win the MVP.

Calder Trophy-Rookie Of The Year

FinalistsAaron Ekblad, John Gaudreau, Mark Stone

Prediction– Ekblad by a nose over Johnny Hockey

Selke Trophy- Best Defensive Forward

FinalistsPatrice Bergeron, Jonathan Toews, Anze Kopitar

Prediction- First off, you might as well pencil these three in as the finalist for the next 5 years,  I want to say Toews, but I think the East Coast bias will push Bergeron to the win.

Masterson Trophy- Perserverance and Dedication to hockey

FinalistDevan Dubnyk, Andrew Hammond, Kris Letang

Prediction– Dubnyk wins for his incredible 2nd half of the season in Minnesota

Norris Trophy- Best Defenseman

FinalistsDrew Doughty, Erik Karlsson, P.K. Subban

Prediction– The Doughty Show wins this season even though he was the only one not in the playoffs in this group.

Lady Byng Trophy-Best Sportsmanship

FinalistsPavel Datsyuk, Jiri Hudler, Anze Kopitar

Prediction– Datsyuk wins this and Kopitar is shut out for the evening.

Jack Adams– Best Coach

Finalists– Bob Hartley, Peter Laviolette, Alain Vigneault

Prediction- NO one expected such a great season out of Nashville so it’s Laviolette barely over Hartley

Mark Messier Leadership Award- Best Leader

Finalists- Jonathan Toews, Ryan Getzlaf, Andrew Ladd

Prediction- Jonathan Toews wins this in a landslide

Ted Lindsay Award- Outstanding Player Voted By The Players

FinalistsJamie Benn, Carey Price, Alex Ovechkin

Prediction- I’m going with offense and Ovi with this vote.

Vezina Trophy- Best Goalie

Finalists– Carey Price, Devan Dubnyk, Pekka Rinne

Prediction– Price wins this and the Hart and goes home with all the trophies.
