7. Start of the Circus Road Trip at Edmonton, November 18

Look past the Oilers for a second and take a glance at the bigger picture. The Blackhawks kick off their annual extended road trip to the West coast with the lowly Oilers in mid-November. They don’t play another home game until Dec. 1. The Oilers have given the Hawks trouble in the past and actually beat the Hawks 5-2 last year in Alberta. It will also be the second time Chicago will face against the assumed top pick in this year’s NHL Draft, Connor McDavid.

The circus trip tends to give an early indication of where the season is headed and the Hawks would be best suited to start it off in style against the Oilers. The circus trip is only six games this year, but features three games against playoff teams from last season.
