I’ve done this post every season because this group/core of Chicago Blackhawks will end up very high in the franchise’s history books. The core of the Chicago Blackhawks, from Duncan Keith to Jonathan Toews, keeps moving up the all-time lists in franchise history, so it’s fun to see what milestones can be achieved in the upcoming season.
Here is the list of Chicago Blackhawks’ milestones to be achieved in the 2015-2016 season:
We start out with a huge milestone that isn’t strictly a Blackhawks record, but still quite impressive! Joel Quenneville is 46 wins away from becoming only the second NHL head coach to hit the 800 wins plateau! The Blackhawks of late have typically won between 42-48 games a season, so this milestone will be touch and go towards the end of the season.
Secondly, before we move strictly to Chicago Blackhawks records, let’s take one more look at the impressive career (so far) of Marian Hossa! Hossa is 14 goals away from hitting the 500 goals milestone. Hossa is also 28 games from playing in 1,100 games and 44 points away from 1,100 career points. All of these records, with good health, should be accomplished this upcoming season.
Now on to strictly Chicago Blackhawks milestones. Duncan Keith is 34 games away and his long time defensive partner Brent Seabrook is 37 games away from becoming only the 13th and 14th Chicago Blackhawks to ever wear the jersey for 800 games!
Patrick Kane is 24 games away from 600 games played, and he’s 43 points away from hitting the 600-point plateau. Kane is also 48 assists away from becoming only the seventh Chicago Blackhawks player to ever collect 400 assists in Chicago Blackhawks history.
Jonathan Toews is 35 games played away from playing in his 600th game as a Chicago Blackhawk. Toews is also 17 assists away from 300 career assists. Toews will also become the first Chicago Blackhawk to be the captain of the franchise for eight seasons, breaking a tie he was in with Pierre Pilote and Dirk Graham.

Niklas Hjalmarsson is 31 games away from playing his 500th game in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey. He’s also 15 assists away from hitting 100 career assists.
If and when Stan Bowman signs Marcus Kruger, the center will only be 13 games away from hitting 300 games played.
Corey Crawford is 32 appearances away from becoming only the eighth Chicago Blackhawks goalie to play in 300 games.
If Kris Versteeg is on the Opening Night roster, he will be four assists away from picking up his 100th assist in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey.
The biggest disappointment when doing this list is, I thought for sure I would be adding up Brandon Saad‘s career totals for years to come, but that just wasn’t in the cards!
Which milestone is the most impressive?
