Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Summer Is Winding Down

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! It’s the 2nd to last weekend in August and that means summer is winding down and things are about to start heating up for winter sports.  The Chicago Bears have already played in two preseason games somehow going 2-0, and your Chicago Blackhawks are less than 4 weeks away from kicking off training camp on the campus of Notre Dame.

This summer really has gone by quick, and I blame it totally on winning the Stanley Cup in the middle of June.  Last year when the Chicago Blackhawks were eliminated in the Western Conference Finals the summer seemed to drag endlessly, but I’m sure it wasn’t helped by the fact the Cubs were loveable losers once again.  This summer there is winning baseball being played at the friendly confines so maybe we are just a little more distracted this year on the calendar.

This summer we have endless pictures of players with the Stanley Cup to make the time fly by instead of being upset every time a picture of LA King with the Cup was shown knowing we were one bounce away from winning back to back Stanley Cups.  The summer winding down is a good thing, and here are some morning links to kick off your Sunday morning.

Of course there is a black cloud hovering over the Chicago Blackhawks this summer, and according to this article we may not know for months if Patrick Kane will even get charged for the crime (SI)
