2025 – Coach Joel Quenneville Retires

You can argue he’s stubborn. You can argue he’s unwilling to develop young talent. But one thing that’s not up for debate when it comes to coach Joel Quenneville is that he knows how to get the job done. It’s hard to remember now when the ‘Hawks were without Coach Q on the bench, but it will be even harder to see the Chicago Blackhawks without him.

Yet in 2025, at age 67, Q-Stache will finally hang up his coaching skates. Personally, I can only hope Coach Q exits the NHL in the same fashion as the Blackhawks’ Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations, Scotty Bowman: finishing his final season as head coach with a Stanley Cup win, lacing up his skates and taking one last lap with the Cup.

When Bowman retired, he had won the Stanley Cup nine times as a head coach. Suffice it to say Quenneville has his work cut out for him, but no one is doubting anymore that he can do it.
