Chicago Blackhawks: 3 Players To Watch Tonight Vs St. Louis

The Chicago Blackhawks take to the ice tonight at the United Center for their second home game of the preseason and 4th preseason game overall. The Chicago Blackhawks sent out their B-team last night which was good enough for a 5-1 victory, but tonight on home ice Joel Quenneville is sending out mostly the A-team so here is a look at the roster tonight.

Here is a quick look at the three players I’ll be watching for tonight as the Chicago Blackhawks plow through their preseason schedule.

3. Artem Anisimov

The anointed 2nd line center has been fairly quiet this training camp and preseason to date. He’s always been a solid two-way center that can put points on the board so it would be nice to start seeing some kind of production from Anisimov.  Most of the new faces have shown their promise since training camp kicked off, but I really want to see Anisimov show us the reason Stan Bowman gave him a big extension without Anisimov ever wearing a Chicago Blackhawks jersey.

2. Vincent Hinostroza

The small center will be taking to the ice tonight, and it will be fun to see if he can fit in with the big boys like he has his entire career to date. He’s a center with a scorers mentality. He’s heading to Rockford after training camp after signing a three year deal after two very good seasons playing at Notre Dame.  Little guys are fun to watch and he can eventually become a fan favorite down the line. Tonight he’s going to have Bryan Bickell and Kyle Baun on his wing so it will be fun to watch if this line can produce tonight.

1. Kyle Baun

Baun was the star of the night last night in Montreal scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. Baun is making a lot of noise to make this roster out of training camp. He’s a younger version of Bryan Bickell being 6 ft 2in with good hands. The roster is pretty set going into the season, but Baun could be the one forward surprise heading to October 7th.  It will be interesting to see if Baun can follow last nights big night with another good game tonight so he’s my #1 player I’ll be watching tonight.
