Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Waiver Wire Diaries

By Keith Schultz

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Stan Bowman and the Chicago Blackhawks surprised almost everyone when they placed Bryan Bickell on waivers on Friday.

I think that most people expected that the Blackhawks were going to do something with Bickell, but the popular theory was that the Chicago Blackhawks would place Bickell on Long Term I.R. with his continuous issues with vertigo that he’s been suffering from since last springs Stanley Cup playoffs.

The question now is will anyone bite on Bickell.  It’s unlikely that anyone will take the bait since Bickell has been on the trade market all summer long and Stan Bowman couldn’t find any takers.  You never know though when a team that is in need of a big guy without having to give anything up for him could take a flyer on Bickell.

The other players that hit the waiver wire wasn’t a big surprise, but I must say that Vincent Hinostroza and Garret Ross both performed well during training camp and showed what they can do if their number is ever called by Stan this season or in the near future.
