Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The day we have been counting down all summer has finally arrived! It’s Banner Raising Night at the United Center, and the last time we watched the Blackhawks play a meaningful game at the United Center they were doing this…

The banner raising tonight will put the 2015 Stanley Cup finally to rest after plenty of Stanley Cup celebrations all over the US, Canada, and Europe.  I believe the Stanley Cup this summer visited 12 countries, and after tonight’s celebration it will be heading back to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto as another season kicks off.

The Chicago Blackhawks as is the norm after every Stanley Cup won in this salary cap era has had a pretty significant roster turnover with this being one of the biggest when they traded away one of their core players in Patrick Sharp.  Sharp will become the first opposing player to ever play against the Blackhawks that has won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks when Dallas and the Blackhawks hook up down the road.

The first month of the season is a heavy dose of Eastern Conference teams though so it’s Gameday, and here are some gameday links to kick off the 2015-2016 season!
