1. Nice debut … now keep it up

Aremi Panarin scored a goal on Henrik Lundqvist in his NHL debut. Not too shabby at all. He looked great in his debut, but we do need to temper our expectations. All rookies go through struggles and, hopefully, adjustment periods. For now though, there is really no book out on Panarin, so he might keep lighting it up for a bit.

Although it wasn’t a debut, it kind of was for another ’Hawk. Teuvo Teravainen scored in his first NHL opening night. This is the first time he has been comfortably assured a roster spot on the ’Hawks. Will he take it and run with it? It’s very possible. He will be fun to watch this year, that’s for sure.

Now that emotions and whatnot have taken a rest and we are kinda-sorta getting into the routine of the NHL regular season, the ’Hawks are primed to start doing some damage. However, the team has new holes in it, and it is facing a very good and hungry Islanders team. This should be a good game.

Go ’Hawks!
