Today is a back to work Monday for the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks have been off since Friday and are itching to get back on the ice. On Friday night the Blackhawks offense finally returned from the off season break. The Blackhawks goals for Jonathan Toews twice, Brent Seabrook, and Artemi Panarin. Despite the four goal effort, the Blackhawks were not able to defeat the Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks will need production from their other lines, especially if Marian Hossa cannot skate tonight. The rumors have swirled that Marko Dano could be recalled from Rockford to replace Hossa. Dano was a healthy scratch in Rockford last night. Dano would be the third IceHog recently recalled. The Blackhawks recalled Tanner Kero and Ryan Hartman last week to jump start the offense. Thus far Kero and Hartman have not scored any goals for the Blackhawks.
The schedule does not get any easier for the Blackhawks. Now the Blackhawks face the RED Hot La Kings . The Kings who struggled out of the gate have rebounded in a big way. They have won 7-0 and lead Pacific Division. During the Kings winning streak they have allowed over two goals once. While the Blackhawks are having issues with consistent line production, the Kings appear to have found their go-to line. Their go-to line is Tyler Toffoli, Jeff Carter, and Milan Lucic. Toffoli has 9 goals this season and tied for the league lead, Carter had 4 goals and 4 assists, and Lucic has who has 7 points.
This game will kick off a tough two game stretch for the Blackhawks as they take on two of the best teams in the Western Conference. The Blackhawks will take on the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday November 4th.
