Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! When you opened up your November schedule this past offseason, you probably didn’t expect the Chicago Blackhawks to go 0-2-0 against the New Jersey Devils in less than a week, but there it was last night after a high sticking penalty to Patrick Kane the Devils struck quickly and picked their game winning goal to sweep the season series.
Things haven’t exactly gone well for the Chicago Blackhawks this season which included losing all world defenseman Duncan Keith for 10 games with a knee injury, but I don’t think fans expected the offense to be this bad. The Chicago Blackhawks are only getting scoring from one line and well that’s not the recipe the Hawks have used for the past 7 seasons to get balanced scoring up and down the lineup.
The biggest disappointment is the fact that Joel Quenneville hasn’t settled on anyone on that top line with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa, and if you want to look at a place where the scoring drought needs to end it’s right there! The lottery line isn’t winning anything or scoring anything and it needs to pick it up if the Blackhawks expect to start winning games on a regular basis.
Of course its still very early into the season, but you can’t go digging ditches that you can’t climb out of either! Here are some morning links to kick off your Friday morning.
