Chicago Blackhawks: Ranking All The Captains In Franchise History

By Colin Likas
14 of 31

No. 19: D Duke Dutkowski

Seasons captain: 1929-30

Win percentage: .522 (21-19-6)

Playoff appearances: 1

Longest playoff run: Quarterfinal loss

Regular-season statistics as captain: 44 games, 7 goals, 10 assists

Playoff statistics as captain: 2 games

Not a whole lot to say about Dutkowksi, who we can only hope was called “The Duke” by teammates every chance they had like Bob Uecker does with the New York Yankees closer in “Major League.” He led the Blackhawks to a moderately successful season in his one year as captain, but an early playoff exit in which he recorded no impactful stats didn’t help his case. Still, one playoff appearance in one year as captain, with an above-.500 record to boot, is nothing to scoff at.
