Chicago Blackhawks: Ranking All The Captains In Franchise History

By Colin Likas
5 of 31

No. 28: C Alex Zhamnov

Seasons captain: 2002-03 through 2003-04

Win percentage: .378 (50-76-24-14)

Playoff appearances: 0

Longest playoff run: N/A

Regular-season statistics as captain: 97 games, 21 goals, 55 assists

Again, some solid statistics in a time when the Blackhawks weren’t very good. Zhamnov was the Blackhawks’ last captain before the 2004-05 lockout, and there was only so much he could do to push this team to legitimate success. Zhamnov actually spent the majority of his career in Chicago, providing about seven and a half seasons of manpower to the Indian Head. He got a whopping five playoff games back from that. Zhamnov’s spot on this list is more a product of the times than anything else.
